High Interest in Public Procurement Training
More than 600 participants attended the online training for future public procurement officers, which was held by lecturers from the Public Procurement Office from April 22nd to 24th. The aim of the training was to make the preparation for the professional exam easier for participants by combining theoretical knowledge with practical examples, as well as to help them better understand how the public procurement system functions in Serbia.
During the three-day program, participants went through all the key phases of the public procurement process, from planning, through implementation, to control. A special part of the program was dedicated to working with the Public Procurement Portal, where participants were introduced to procedures and practices through concrete examples.
One of the more important topics was legal protection in public procurement procedures. Although many candidates rarely apply this area in practice, it is an important part of the exam, so clear explanations and practical advice were very useful.
"The goal of these trainings is to translate theory into practice, so that participants not only pass the exam, but also know how to conduct procedures without mistakes," emphasized the lecturers.
Interest in the training grew day by day, from 472 participants on the first day, 558 on the second, to as many as 645 participants on the third day, indicating a great need for this kind of support.
The organization of training is part of efforts to improve the work and knowledge of employees involved in public procurement. The “EU Support for Public Finance Management” project and the Public Procurement Office organize this type of educational activity twice a year. The project is supported by the European Union through IPA 2021 and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF) and the Ministry of Finance of Slovakia. The next training is scheduled for autumn 2026.
